Storm chaser Blake Brown documents the Mistletoe Fire, a fast-moving 523-acre wildfire burning southeast of Amarillo, east of Lake Tanglewood in Randall County, on December 25, 2025.
This video features close-range wildfire footage, including active flame fronts, heavy blowing smoke, firefighters working suppression efforts, and large air tanker retardant drops supporting crews on the ground in the Texas Panhandle.
Dry fuels, gusty winds, and winter fire weather conditions contributed to rapid fire spread across grasslands in the Texas Panhandle. This fire is another example of how wildfire season in Texas is no longer limited to summer months.
All footage was captured safely and responsibly. Firefighting operations were not interfered with at any time.
