Today begins the first of several days of ‘Fort Stocktoning’ potential as the dryline becomes active in the Texas Panhandle, West Texas, Permian Basin, and Trans-Pecos. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible after 3 PM CT with a risk of large hail, damaging winds, lightning, heavy rain, and perhaps a tornado.

Scattered severe storms are expected this afternoon and evening across the Texas Panhandle, West Texas, Permian Basin, Trans-Pecos, and Big Bend. Storms may move east into the Big Country and Concho Valley tonight. Large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain, and perhaps a brief tornado are possible.

A small cluster of storms may move east this evening into the Concho Valley, before weakening as it approaches the Hill Country early Wednesday. Repeat on Wednesday and Thursday, with isolated storms across the western third of Texas in the afternoon, moving east each evening into early the following morning.

On Wednesday, another round of isolated severe storms are possible in the Permian Basin, Trans-Pecos, West Texas, and the Panhandle during the late afternoon and evening hours.

On Thursday, another round of isolated severe storms are possible in the Permian Basin, Trans-Pecos, West Texas, and the Panhandle during the late afternoon and evening hours.

Popup storms are also possible this afternoon through Thursday across the eastern half of Texas, especially along and north of Interstate 10. Those storms will be more of the ‘hit and miss’ variety.

At least isolated thunderstorm chances will continue on Friday and Saturday across the Texas Panhandle, West Texas, Northwest Texas, and Texoma. Sunday and Monday are looking calmer.
