It’s the final Monday of September, and honestly? The Texas forecast is pretty quiet this week. A ridge of high pressure means little to no rain, warming temps, and increasing wildfire danger across parts of East and Southeast Texas.
Meanwhile, the Atlantic tropical basin is alive. Hurricane Umberto is a powerful storm tracking northwest before turning northeast near Bermuda, bringing rip currents and coastal flooding to the U.S. East Coast. Tropical Storm Imelda is also strengthening near the Bahamas but will be tugged out to sea thanks to Umberto’s influence.
No tropical threats for Texas or the Gulf — but the Carolinas and Bermuda are keeping a close watch.
