It’s the final day of September, and Texas is finishing the month hot, dry, and mostly cloud-free. Fire danger is on the rise across South and East Texas as fuels dry out, and we’re watching the tropics — but no Gulf impacts are expected.

Texas Weather Highlights:

Mostly sunny, hot, and dry across Texas
Highs in the 80s northwest and 90s central and south
Fire danger elevated to very high across South and East Texas
Tropics: Hurricane Imelda heads toward Bermuda, Humberto moving northeast — no Gulf or Texas threats
Rain chances nearly zero through the weekend, with only small chances along the immediate Gulf Coast or Panhandle early next week
