Good evening. I’m Texas Storm Chasers Baldy-in-Chief David Reimer. Coming up on 10 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2025, we’ve got two very different stories playing out across Texas tonight.
Southeast Texas, the Golden Triangle, and the Piney Woods are dealing with scattered storms, cloud-to-ground lightning, and locally heavy rain that will continue all night. Fog and mist stretch back through San Antonio, Austin, Waco, DFW, and into the Hill Country.
Meanwhile… winter has clocked in across the Panhandle.
A developing band of moderate to heavy snow is dropping accumulation from north of Vega to Dalhart, Dumas, and over to Gruver and Perryton. The rain/snow line will continue sliding south overnight, changing Amarillo, Canyon, Hereford, and possibly Plainview and Childress over to snow.
Heavy snow bands may set up and produce 2–4 inches in narrow corridors, with slick and hazardous roads along I-40, US-287, and surrounding highways. Travel conditions will deteriorate through the night and make for a rough Thursday morning commute.
Snow should end between 10 AM and noon Thursday.
Southeast Texas will stay all-rain, with only a low chance for small hail or a brief coastal thornado/waterspout.
We’ll have winter-weather mode active on our 24/7 live stream with radar and live road cams. You can watch on YouTube, our website, or the free Texas Storm Chasers mobile app.
