A brief warm-up is underway across Texas today, but it won’t last long.

Another cold front crashes through the state tonight into Friday, bringing gusty north winds and a return to colder temperatures, especially across North and Central Texas. While this next front will not bring snow, ice, or freezing rain, it will create windy and colder conditions heading into the weekend, with multiple freezes expected across much of the state.

Fire danger remains something to watch as dry grasses linger despite recent winter weather, especially with gusty winds behind the front. Temperatures will rebound again early next week, with our next chance of rain arriving Tuesday into Wednesday.

This is your Thursday edition of the Texas Weather Roundup, covering temperature trends, wind impacts, fire weather concerns, and what to expect heading into the weekend and beyond.
