Texas Thunderstorm Update: Storms Moving South with Cold Front | March 7 Weather Forecast

Thunderstorms are moving across Texas this Saturday morning as a cold front pushes south across the state.

Scattered storms are ongoing across the Hill Country, North Texas, Texoma, Northeast Texas, and parts of Central Texas early this morning. While the cooler air behind the front should limit tornado potential, some storms may still produce heavy rain, gusty winds, lightning, and pockets of hail.

Flash flooding has already been reported in parts of North Texas, including the DFW Metroplex, and localized street flooding remains possible where storms train.

As the cold front moves south through the afternoon and evening, thunderstorm chances will increase for San Antonio, Laredo, Corpus Christi, Houston, Beaumont, and Southeast Texas.

While tornadoes are not expected today, storms could still bring strong winds, heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and small to quarter-size hail. Some storms in southern Texas may produce very large hail this afternoon and evening.

Stay weather aware and remember: When thunder roars, go indoors.
