A cold front has pushed through much of Texas today, bringing a cool, wet afternoon across North Texas, Central Texas, the Hill Country, and East Texas. Temperatures have dropped into the 40s and 50s behind the front.

Farther south, thunderstorms are developing along and ahead of the front across South Central and South Texas.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch through 11 PM for parts of South Texas including San Antonio, the Edwards Plateau, Coastal Plains, and the Coastal Bend. A few storms could produce hail up to ping pong ball size, damaging winds up to 70 mph, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall.

Localized street flooding and isolated flash flooding may occur this evening as storms move southeast toward the coast.
