A fast Texas weather update for Sunday afternoon, March 15, 2026.

We’re tracking multiple weather hazards across Texas tonight, including a Tornado Watch in parts of East Texas, a quick-moving chance for severe storms in the Piney Woods and Southeast Texas, widespread blowing dust, extreme wildfire danger, and a powerful cold front bringing strong north winds statewide.

In this update, Baldy-in-Chief David Reimer breaks down:
• Tornado Watch areas in East Texas
• Storm chances this evening into tonight
• Damaging wind and hail risk
• Why the tornado threat in Texas is low, but not zero
• Blowing dust issues in West Texas, the Panhandle, and Northwest Texas
• Ongoing wildfire danger and fire concerns
• Arrival of much colder air and 50 to 55 mph wind gusts tonight

Most of Texas will not see much rain, but nearly the entire state will deal with strong winds and sharply changing conditions overnight.
