A dangerous severe weather setup is unfolding today across Texoma, North Texas, the DFW Metroplex, and Northeast Texas.
A Level 4 out of 5 severe weather risk is now in place for parts of North Texas and eastern Texoma, including the DFW Metroplex north to the Red River. The main threat today is destructive giant hail, potentially up to 4 to 5 inches in diameter with the most intense storms. Damaging winds, a few tornadoes, heavy rainfall, and localized flooding are also possible.
Storms may begin developing as soon as early afternoon along boundaries left behind by this morning’s storms. Supercells could move east or southeast into North Texas, Northeast Texas, and the DFW Metroplex through the afternoon and evening.
