Scattered thunderstorms are developing this afternoon across parts of the Hill Country, North Texas, and Northeast Texas.
The strongest storms may produce hail larger than quarters, and a few storms could produce larger hail if they keep strengthening. Strong wind gusts are also possible. The tornado threat is low right now, especially north of the cool front where temperatures remain much cooler.
Storms to watch include:
• Gillespie County, northwest of Fredericksburg and west of Harper, moving east toward the Johnson City/Dripping Springs/Austin direction
• Comanche County, where a stronger storm is developing a hail core
• DFW, with scattered storms near Cleburne, Duncanville, South Dallas, and downtown Dallas
• Northeast Texas, where a few severe storms have already produced hail today
Additional scattered storms may continue developing across the eastern half of Texas this afternoon, including the Edwards Plateau, Central Texas, Brazos Valley, East Texas, and nearby areas.
